Cabbage Stir Fry with Ginger and Garlic

This classic cabbage stir fry recipe is one of the easiest and delicious recipes with a burst of flavor that will require the following ingredients.

  • 1 medium-sized, thinly sliced cabbage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 julienned carrot
  • 1 thinly sliced red bell pepper
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Now follow the procedure given below.

  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add minced garlic and giner and saute for about one minute.
  • Now add sliced cabbage, bell pepper and carrot and stir fry for about 7-8 minutes until the veggies are slightly crisp.
  • Add sesame oil and soy sauce and give a toss.

Cabbage and Lentil Soup

This hearty and rich cabbage and lentil soup is the perfect option to enjoy during chilly days. Here’s what you will need to prepare it.

  • 1 medium-sized, thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • ½ cup diced carrots
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 2 diced celery stalks
  • 6 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Follow the procedure given below.

  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add onion, carrots, celery and garlic in olive oil and saute until the veggies start to turn tender.
  • Now add the chopped cabbage, lentils, cumin, paprika, vegetable broth and simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the lentils are tender.
  • Season with salt and pepper and serve hot. You can also garnish with fresh parsley. 

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 2 finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the sauce, you will need

  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 cup vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the cabbage rolls, you will need

  • 14-15 blanched cabbage leaves

Read and follow the procedure given below carefully.

To prepare the filling, start by;

  • Browning the lean ground beef in a frying pan and let the excess fat drain.
  • Now add, saute onion and garlic until they turn translucent.
  • Add cooked quinoa, tomatoes, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper and cook for about 5-7 minutes.

To prepare the sauce you will need to 

  • Simmer tomato sauce, vegetable broth, paprika, honey, salt and pepper together in another sauce pan for about 10-15 minutes.

For the cabbage rolls,

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F 
  • Place some filling on the blanched cabbage leaf, roll it up, tucking in the sides. Prepare all the rolls similarly.
  • Take a baking dish and place the rolls seam side down and pour the prepared sauce over them.
  • Cover the dish using foil and bake for about 45 minutes.
  • Garnish with herbs and serve hot!
