How to strengthen your bond with your children?

Well! Read this article to know more about how to strengthen your bond with your child and how to stay connected with them.

Spend more time with them

Generation gaps may be one of the reasons why parent-children bond breaks, but spending a little time with your child throughout the day is one the biggest reason why the relationship do not sustain. So take out some time for your child taking turns if both of you are working. Make them feel your presence in their life. Spend some quality time with them.

Have food with them

Make it a point to have any of the three meal of the day with your child. Sit with them. See what they are having for the meal. Cook for them once in a while. Serve them the food you made. Make them feel you care and see how your bond deepens.

Listen to them

More often than not we tend to forget and listen to their side of the story. This might make them feel detached and they may feel like they cannot share with you anymore. Make sure you listen to them. Make sure that you empathise with them and listen to their side of the story too before taking any decision. Make them feel heard. Make them feel that you listen to them and you are on their side of the team too.

Give them space

As much as every parent would want to know all about what is going on with their child, its best to sometimes give them space and let them be on their own. This will make sure that they share with you everything that you need to know. Giving them the right amount of space will ensure them that you trust them and they would feel obligated to do the right thing.

Share with them.

Share your day with them. Let them share their day with you. Learn from each other’s day. Share your feelings with them and not just what happened throughout the day. This will help them open up to you. Share how much you love them. You would witness the change in them yourself once you start expressing your love and feelings to them. So, go tell your children how much you love them and how blessed you are to have them in your life!

So go get connected to your children and develop and grow that bond, strengthening it forever!

All the best!
