White Sesame (White Till) Laddu Recipe

These white sesame laddus (also known as Til ke Laddu) are a traditional Indian winter delicacy that combines the nutty richness of toasted sesame with the deep, caramel sweetness of jaggery. This single-serving recipe produces a nutrient-dense, energy-boosting treat that is naturally gluten-free and rich in plant-based minerals. By using the stovetop or air fryer to toast the seeds, you achieve a perfect crunch that balances the chewy texture of the jaggery binder.

Instructions: How to Make White Sesame (White Till) Laddu

  • Toast
Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over low heat for 3–4 minutes until they become fragrant and start to "pop." (Or air fry at 160°C for 3–5 minutes, shaking halfway).
  • Syrup
In the same pan, melt the jaggery with 1 tsp of water over low heat until it bubbles and reaches a "soft ball" stage (a drop in cold water should form a soft, squishy ball).
  • Mix
Quickly stir in the toasted sesame seeds and cardamom powder until the seeds are fully coated.
  • Shape
While the mixture is still warm (but touchable), grease your palms with a drop of ghee and roll the mixture into two small, firm balls.
