Methi Paneer Recipe

This Methi Paneer is a sophisticated North Indian delicacy that perfectly balances the slight bitterness of fresh fenugreek leaves with the creamy, mild sweetness of paneer. It is a nutritional gem, offering a dense supply of phytonutrients, fiber, and high-quality protein that aids in blood sugar regulation and bone health. Unlike heavier cream-based curries, this version emphasizes the aromatic profile of the herbs, making it a "functional food" that supports digestion and respiratory health. The combination of green leafy vegetables and dairy provides a massive boost of Vitamin K and Bioavailable Calcium.

Instructions: How to Make Methi Paneer

  • Prep the Greens
Wash the methi leaves thoroughly in salted water to reduce bitterness. Squeeze out excess water and sauté the leaves in a dry pan for 2 minutes until wilted, then set aside.
  • Sauté Masala (Bhuna)
Heat ghee/oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, then sauté onions and ginger-garlic paste until lightly browned. Add tomatoes and dry spices, cooking until the mixture becomes a thick, fragrant paste.
  • Combine and Simmer
Add the sautéed methi and paneer cubes to the masala. Stir gently to coat, add a tablespoon of water if too dry, and simmer covered for 3–4 minutes. Finish with a dash of garam masala and serve hot.
