Instructions: How to Make Paneer Cheese Pockets

  • Prepare the dough
In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt. Add water gradually and knead into a soft, pliable dough. Cover with a damp cloth and rest for 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the filling:
In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled paneer, shredded mozzarella, chopped onions, capsicum, green chili, coriander, red chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  • Shape the pockets:
Divide the dough into two small balls. Roll each into a thin circle (~6 inches). Place 2-3 tablespoons of filling on one half of the circle, leaving a small border. Fold the other half over to form a semicircle and press edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp edges for design and sealing.
  • Cook the pockets
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly brush both sides of the pockets with olive oil or ghee. Cook each side for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  • Optional (for extra crispness):
Bake the cooked pockets in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 5 minutes.
  • Serve:
Slice into halves and serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.
