What Ingredients do I Need for Paneer Pulao?

  • 0.5 cup Paneer ( fresh ) - default
  • 0.5 cup Rice, Parboiled, Milled ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Oil ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tbsp Peas, Fresh ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tbsp Tomato, Ripe, Local ( frozen ) - default
  • 1 tbsp Onion, Stalk ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tbsp Carrot, Orange ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tsp Ginger, Fresh ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tsp Garlic, Big Cloves ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tsp Chillies, Green - All Varieties ( fresh ) - default

Instructions: How to Make Paneer Pulao

  • Prep
    Soak the Basmati rice for 30 minutes and drain. Marinate paneer cubes with a pinch of salt and chili powder, then lightly shallow-fry them.
  • Tempering
    Heat the oil/ghee in a small pot. Add whole spices and sauté until fragrant. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent.
  • Masala
    Add ginger-garlic paste and ground spices (Garam Masala, Turmeric, Chili) and cook briefly. Add mixed vegetables (peas/carrots) and sauté.
  • Rice & Water
    Add the drained rice and sauté gently for 1 minute.8 Add the required water (typically 1 cup per 1/2 cup of rice) and salt.
  • Cook
    Bring to a boil, cover tightly, and simmer until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  • Finish
    Gently fold in the fried paneer cubes before serving.
