What Ingredients do I Need for Tomato Fry?

  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds - default
  • 1 tsp Green chili - default
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder - default
  • 1.5 tsp Salt - default
  • 4 count Onion, Small - default
  • 6 count Tomato, Ripe, Local - default
  • 4 tsp Coriander Leaves - default
  • 4 tbsp Soyabean Oil - default

Instructions: How to Make Tomato Fry

  • Instructions
    Thinly slice the onions and finely chop the tomatoes . Slit the green chilies and keep it ready.
  • Saute aromatics
    Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add curry leaves(optional) and saute briefly.
  • Cook the Onions
    Add the sliced onions and saute until they turn golden brown and soft.
  • Add Tomatoes and Spices
    Add the chopped tomatoes and stir well. Add chili , coriander, turmeric powder, and salt. Stir continuously to prevent burning.
  • Simmer and Finish
    Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the tomatoes become mushy and release their water. The mixture will start to thicken and the oil will separate from the vegetables.
  • Serve
    Remove from heat and serve hot with roti, chapati or phulka.
