What Ingredients do I Need for Curd Rice?

  • 0.5 cup Rice, Parboiled, Milled ( fresh ) - default
  • 0.5 cup Curd ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tsp Ghee ( fresh ) - default

Instructions: How to Make Curd Rice

  • Combine the Base
    Gently mash 1/2 cup of cooked and cooled rice. Mix it thoroughly with 1/2 cup of plain yogurt/curd, 1-2 tablespoons of milk (optional for consistency), and salt to taste, until creamy.
  • Prepare Tempering
    Heat 1 tsp of oil/ghee in a small pan. Add mustard seeds, let them splutter, then quickly sauté the chana dal, hing, green chili, and curry leaves for 30 seconds.
  • Finish & Serve
    Pour the entire tempering mixture over the curd-rice mixture, mix lightly, and garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
