What Ingredients do I Need for Beetroot Roti?

  • 60 g Wheat Flour, Atta ( fresh ) - default
  • 40 g Beetroot ( fresh ) - default
  • 1 tsp Ghee ( fresh ) - default
  • 0.5 tsp Carom seeds (ajwain) ( fresh ) - default
  • 2 tbsp water ( fresh ) - default

Instructions: How to Make Beetroot Roti

  • Puree
    Peel and boil the beetroot until soft, then blend into a very smooth paste without adding much water.
  • Knead
    In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and carom seeds; add the beetroot puree and knead into a soft, pliable dough (add a splash of water only if the dough is too dry).
  • Roll
    Divide into two balls and roll them out into thin, even circles using dry flour for dusting.
  • Cook
    Place on a hot griddle (tawa) and cook both sides until brown spots appear and the roti puffs up. Brush with a drop of ghee if desired
